Connections
A connection profile needs to be created to communicate between the mobile device and Electrical Control Unit (ECU). There are different connection types available depending on the type of connection needed.
Note: The ECU needs to have the correct application
installed and be correctly configured. These configurations can be set with either
with the
PLUS+1®
GUIDE or
PLUS+1
Service Tool.
The communication interface also needs to be enabled in order for the mobile app to
find the ECU.
Note: Make sure you have the right
settings for the chosen connection type, see section Connection types
below.Create a connection profile
For more details on how to create a connection profile, see Step 7 - Connect to the system.
- Tap the Connections
icon in the navigation bar located at
the bottom of the screen.
- If no connection profile is found, tap the Create Connection Profile or the + sign on the top right corner of the screen.
- Fill in the entry fields to complete your connection profile: Name, Interlink Settings (device details) and System Settings (connection settings for the desired system).
- Tap Save to save the connection profile and return to the Connections view.
- Tap the connection profile to connect to the system.
If the connection is successful the name of the connection will turn green, and a green light is shown on the Connections icon.
Connection types
The list below describes the requirements for each connection.
- Interlink Wi-Fi
- Connection over Wi-Fi
- Wi-Fi has to be enabled in the ECU application and your mobile device
- ECU device have to be on the same network
- The communication protocol is IPV4
- On iOS and Android devices, the PLUS+1 Service Tool app must be allowed to access the local network.
- Interlink Bluetooth
- Connection over Bluetooth
- Bluetooth on the phone has to be turned on and connected
- Bluetooth has to be enabled in the ECU application
- The communication protocol is IPV6
- On iOS and Android devices, the PLUS+1 Service Tool app must be allowed to access Bluetooth on the mobile device.
- Interlink BLE
- Connection over Bluetooth low energy (BLE)
- Bluetooth on the mobile device has to be turned on and unpaired
- The ECU device that supports BLE needs an HWD file that supports BLE
- On iOS & Android devices, location services need to be turned on in order to find nearby devices.
- Remote Interlink
- Connection to a remote device
- Both the remote device and mobile device must be connected to the internet.
- WS103
- Connection to a WS103 device
- The WS103 device has to be connected to the internet and correctly configured (correct port & IP address) in the ECU application.
